Here are some pictures taken in the German POW camps Stalag IX-A at Ziegenhain and  Oflag XI A  Osterode,   holding camps before the completion of  Woldenberg Oflag II C.  My father was in a barrack comprised mainly of Polish Cavalry Officers.

In the woodcut Harald Krusche is the one reading a book. He had a good collection of technical books and several manuscripts which were all lost when the camp was uprooted and forced to move at the end of the war.
